Dua for Rizq and Wealth. Acts of sustenance increase

Bismillahir Rahmani Rahim, today we will discuss the 12 practices from the Quran and Hadith among the means of increasing sustenance or Rizq, inshallah.

1. Adopting taqwa and tawakkul

Adopting fear of Allah and Taqwa, following His instructions, and avoiding forbidden things. In addition to having unwavering trust in Allah, Tawakkul and asking for His help in seeking sustenance. Because, whoever trusts in Allah, is sufficient for him. Allah Ta’ala says,

‘And whoever fears Allah, He makes a way for him, And He will provide him with sustenance from sources he cannot imagine. And whoever trusts in Allah, Allah is sufficient for him. Allah will fulfill His purpose. Surely Allah has fixed a term for everything.’ {Surah At-Talaq, Verses 2-3}

That is, whoever fears Allah and obeys Him, Allah will remove all his troubles and provide him with sustenance from unimaginable places. And whoever seeks refuge in Allah alone when he achieves his purpose, He is sufficient for him. Needless to say, this piety is manifested in striving for halal earnings and rejecting questionable earnings.

2. Repentance and forgiveness

More Istighfar and more seeking Allah’s forgiveness also increases sustenance. Allah Ta’ala mentions the incident of one of His Prophets and Messengers Nuh Alaihis Salam.

And I said, ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Indeed, He is Most Forgiving’. (If you ask Him for forgiveness) ‘He will send rain upon you in torrents,’ and will help you with wealth and children and will give you gardens and rivers.’ {Surah Nuh, Verses: 10-12}

In the hadith, the matter is stated a little more clearly, narrated by Abdullah Ibn Abbas Radi Allahu Anhu, the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said,

“Whoever regularly asks for forgiveness, Allah will find a way out of all his problems, remove all his worries, and provide him with sustenance from unimaginable sources.” [Abu Dawud: 1520; Ibn Majah: 3819; Tabrani : 6291]

Shaykh Usaimeen said, the hadith is weak in terms of authenticity, but its meaning and statement are correct. There is support for this statement in Quranic verses and hadiths.

It is narrated in another hadith, on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:

“Whoever asks for forgiveness more and more, Allah will find a way out of all his problems, remove all his worries and provide him with sustenance from unimaginable sources.” [Bayhaqi: 636; Hakem, Mustadarak: Narrated in 7677 Sahih sources.]

Istegfar Dua 1

أَستَغْفِرُ اللهَ

Astagfirullah.

I am asking for Allah’s forgiveness.

Istegfar Dua 2

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ وَأَتُوْبُ إِلَيْهِ

Astagfirullah wa Atubu Ilaihi.

I seek Allah’s forgiveness and return to Him.

Istegfar Dua 3

I seek forgiveness from Allah, indeed there is no god but Him, He is Ever-Living, Eternal, and I repent to Him.

3. Praying to Allah

It is necessary to make dua to Allah to obtain sustenance and to remove scarcity. Because He accepts prayers. And Allah Ta’ala is the Sustainer and He is the Almighty. Allah says:

And your Lord said, ‘Call upon Me, and I will answer your call.’ {Surah Al-Mu’min, verse 60}

In this verse, Allah has ordered to make Du’a and He has taken the responsibility of accepting it. As long as it does not stand in the way of acceptance. Such as Leaving Wajib, engaging in haram deeds, eating haram food or wearing haram clothes, etc., and delaying acceptance for a while.

Dua for Rizq

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي وَوَسِّعْ لِي فِي رِزْقِي وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا رَزَقْتَنِ

Pronunciation: Allahummagfir li jambi, wa wassi li fi dari, wa barik li fima razaqtani.

Meaning: O Allah, forgive my sins, widen my house, and bless me with the sustenance You have bestowed upon me.

Tirmidhi Hadith No. 3500

Dua can be prayed as follows-

‘Give me sustenance O sustenance giver, you are the best sustenance giver. O Allah, I ask you for holy and abundant sustenance. O that being, whose store is not diminished despite the abundance of donations; O Allah, suffice me with Your Halal from Your Haram and suffice me with Your Mercy from others besides You; O Allah, make me satisfied with the sustenance that You have given me. And bless me with what you have given me.’

If one takes refuge in Allah in times of scarcity and seeks abundance from Him, then surely one’s scarcity will be removed and one’s sustenance will be increased, Insha’Allah. On the authority of Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

‘Whoever falls into want, then entrusts it to man (depends on man to remove want), his want is not removed. On the other hand, the one who falls into poverty and depends on Allah for its remedy, then Allah will give him quick or slow sustenance without delay. [Tirmidhi: 2896; Musnad Ahmad: 4218]

4. Reciting Darood

Recitation of durood on Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam also brings breadth to Rizi. As inferred from the following hadith. Narrated by Tofail Ibn Ubayy Ibn Ka’b Radi Allahu Anhu, who said,

I asked, O Messenger of Allah, I want to pray more for you, so how much of my share should I keep for your blessings? He said, as much as you want. Ka’b said, I said, a quarter. He said, as much as you want. But if you read more it will be better for you. I said, half? He said, as much as you want. But if you read more it will be better for you. Ka’b said, I said, then two-thirds? Then he said, as much as you want. But if you read more it will be better for you. I said I will keep only your blessings throughout my life. He said, then it will be sufficient for your troubles and needs and your sins will be forgiven. [Tirmidhi: 2645; Hakem, Mustadarak: 7677 (Abu Isa said the hadith is ‘Hasan’ Sahih.)]

5. Maintain good relations with relatives

Sustenance also increases by maintaining good relations with relatives and fulfilling their rights. For example: On the authority of Anas Ibn Malek, may God be pleased with him, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say:

‘He who wishes to have his sustenance extended and his life prolonged should maintain good relations with his relatives.’ [Bukhari: 5985; Muslim: 4639]

6. Spending in the way of Allah

If one spends or donates in the way of Allah, it does not fail. He does not run out of resources. Rather, it increases and does not decrease. Allah Ta’ala says,

‘Say, ‘Surely my Lord expands and narrows provision for whomever He wills among His servants. And whatever you spend for Allah, He will repay it, and He is the Best Sustainer.’ {Surah As-Saba’, verse: 39}

7. Repeated Hajj-Umrah

Hajj and Umrah remove sins and increase the wealth of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. On the authority of Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, he said, “The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:

‘Perform Hajj and Umrah consecutively, for it removes want and sin, just as a blacksmith’s tool removes dirt from iron, gold, and silver.’ [Tirmidhi: 815; Nasa’i: 2631]

8. Being kind or doing good to the weak

Mus’ab Ibn Sa’d Radiyallahu Anhu imagined in his mind after the victory that he was more dignified than others because of his bravery and bravery. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

‘Only because of the weak among you are you helped and provided with sustenance.’ [Bukhari: 2896]

9. Being free from distractions for worship

If one is free from trouble for the worship of Allah, through this also scarcity is removed and abundance is gained. As narrated by Abu Huraira Radi Allahu Anhu. The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:

Allah Ta’ala says, O son of Adam, be free from trouble for My worship, I will fill your heart with abundance and remove your poverty. And if you do not, I will keep your hands busy and not remove your want.’ [Tirmidhi: 2654; Musnad Ahmad: 8681; Ibn Majah: 4107]

10. Thanking Allah for His blessings

In general, thank God for the sustenance and blessings that God has given. Because thanksgiving increases blessings. Allah Ta’ala says,

And when your Lord declared, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you, and if you are ungrateful, surely My punishment will be severe.’ {Surah Ibrahim, verse: 07}

In the verse, Allah Ta’ala announced the increase in blessings due to gratitude. Needless to say, there is no limit to Allah’s increase.

11. Get married

Nowadays people are so addicted to worldly abundance and luxuries that they decide to delay marriage even if it is necessary because they don’t have a lot of money. It may seem surprising to them that marriage brings abundance to the world. Because, whoever joins the family, comes with provisions for him. Allah Ta’ala says,

‘And give in marriage to the unmarried men and women and the virtuous servants among you. If they are needy, Allah will relieve them of need by His grace. Allah is bountiful and all-wise.’ {Surah An-Noor, Verse: 32}

Umar Ibn Khattab (Radi Allahu Anhu) used to say, “The matter of the person who does not seek abundance in marriage is surprising.” Because Allah Himself said, ‘If they are needy, Allah will relieve them of need by His grace.’

12. Abandoning sins, always sticking to the religion of Allah, and doing good deeds

Renunciation of sins, steadfastness in the religion of Allah, and doing good deeds – all these also pave the way for sustenance, as can be inferred from the above verses.

But above all, we must remember that we did not come to this world to stay forever. Therefore, priority should be given to the Hereafter without giving priority to this world. Seeing our condition, Allah Ta’ala says,

‘Rather you prefer the life of this world. But the Hereafter is the best and permanent.’ {Surah Al-A’la, Verses 16-17}

And whose main goal is the liberation and eternal peace of the hereafter, he should try to be satisfied with little instead of moaning for sustenance. For example: In the hadith, Abdullah Ibn Amr Ibn As Radi Allahu Anhum narrated that the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:

‘The truly successful person is the one who embraces Islam and is provided with sustenance (neither lack nor luxury) and is satisfied with what Allah has given him. [Muslim : 2473; Tirmidhi: 2348; Ahmad : 6572]
