Wudu steps. How to make Wudu? Dua after Wudu. Wudu meaning. How to do Wudu? What breaks Wudu? how to perform wudu

Bismillahir Rahmani Rahim, today’s topic of discussion is Wudu steps, How to make Wudu, Dua after Wudu, Wudu meaning, What breaks Wudu, and many more things related to wudu.

Wudu meaning

The literal meaning of the word wudu is goodness and cleanliness. Wudu is the name of a method of attaining purity by washing specific parts of the body according to Islamic law.

Dua after Wudu

It is necessary to say ‘Bismillah’ before doing ablution. And on the authority of Hurairah (RA), she said, The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, Salat will not be performed without ablution and ablution will not be performed without saying, Bismillah. (Abu Dawud ha/101; Tirmidhi ha/25). Note that only Bismillah should be said, Bismillah Rahmani Rahim or any other prayer cannot be recited. Because there is no proof of them in the Quran or Hadith.

Saying the common word of Niyyah before ablution (Nawaituan ……) is not proven by the hadith but it is a bid’ah to read it.

Reciting various supplications such as (Allahummagfirli Jambi ……) while washing the various parts in ablution is not proven by Sahih Hadith rather it is bid’ah.

It is Sunnah to pray after ablution. The prayer is as follows:-

Virtues of Dua after Wudu

On the authority of Umar Ibn Khattab (RA):

He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever, after performing ablution well, says: “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is One, He has no partners; I further bear witness that the Prophet (peace be upon him) is His servant and His Messenger; O Allah! Make me among those who repent and make me among those who attain purity”, all the eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him. He can enter it through any door he wants.

Tirmidhi Hadith No. 55

Quality of Hadith: Sahih Hadith

Note that the hadith of looking at the sky while reciting this dua is ‘Munkar’ or Zaif.

Nashiruddin Albani, Irwaul Galil 1/135 p.

The intention of Wudu

One of the conditions of worship is pure intention. Almighty Allah says they have not been instructed except that they should worship Allah sincerely with a pure heart, establish prayer and give zakat; This is the right religion. (Surah Al-Bayyinah Verse No. 5)

Niyat means a determination of mind. And its place is the heart; not the face The Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam and none of his Companions used to utter any specific word for intention; So it is innovative to pronounce it in the mouth; Moreover, there is no restrictive wording for intention; If you make a mental decision for any worship, it will become an intention.

There is no need to pronounce anything on the face. And the pure intention is to resolve in my heart that I am doing this now only for the sake of Allah and for no other purpose. Therefore, the intention of ablution should be such that I must resolve in my heart that I am performing ablution only for the sake of Allah. You don’t have to say anything with your mouth, just make this determination in your heart and start ablution by saying, Bismillah.

How to make Wudu

(1) First of all, make a wudu intention in your mind. ( Muttafaq Alaih, Mishkat Ha/1)

(2) Say ‘Bismillah’. ( Ti Ramizi, Ibn Majah, Mishkat Ha/402)

(3) Take water in the right hand and wash both hands including the wrists ( Muttafaq Alaih, Naylul Awtar 1/206 and 210 p.) and Fingers will doddle. (Nasa’i, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ibnu Majah, Mishkat ha/405) If there is a ring on the finger, water will enter thereby moving it. (Bukhari, Naylul Awtar p. 1/231; paragraph ‘Moving the ring and crossing the fingers’)

(4) Rinse the well with water with the right hand and, if necessary, blow the nose with fresh water and wipe the nose well with the left hand. (Muttafaq Alaih, Mishkat Ha/394)

(5) Wash the entire face from the base of the forehead through the lobes of the two ears to the bottom of the snout ( Muttafaq Alaih, Naylul Awtar p. 1/210) and trim the beard. ( Tirmidhi, Naylul Awtar 1/224 p.)

(6) Wash the right hand first and then the left hand including the elbow ( Bukhari, Naylul Awtar 1/223 p.)

(7) Taking water, the wet fingers of both hands should massage the entire head once by rubbing it from the front to the back and from the back to the front. ( Muttafaq Alaih, Mishkat Ha/394) At the same time, wet Shahadat will massage the inner part of the ear with the fingers and the back part with the thumb. ( Nasa’i, Ibn Majah, Mishkat Ha/414)

(8) Wash the ankles of the right and left feet well ( Muttafaq Alaih, Mishkat Ha/394) and The toes will doddle with the fingers of the left hand. ( Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Mishkat Ha/406-07)

(9) Thus at the end of ablution, take some water in the left hand and sprinkle it along the private parts ( Abu Dawood, Nasa’i, Mishkat Ha/361) and recite the above supplication.

How many and what are the fard of Wudu

There are four obligatory acts of ablution that Allah Ta’ala has described in the Holy Qur’an. That is:

1. Wash the entire face

Allah Ta’ala says, O believers! Wash your faces when you want to stand in prayer’ (Maida 5/6).

Facial flushing and nasal irrigation are included. Therefore, if one washes his face but does not wash his face or nose, then his ablution will not be valid. Because Allah Ta’ala has ordered to wash the entire face. And washing the face includes rinsing the mouth and rinsing the nose.

Saleh al-Fawzan, al-Mulakshasul Fiqhi 1/41 p.; Al-Fiqhul Muassar 18 p.

2. Wash both hands up to the elbows

Allah Ta’ala says, wash your hands up to the elbows. (Mayda 5/6). Here it is mentioned to wash up to the elbow.

On the authority of Jaber Ibn Abdullah (RA), he said, When the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) performed ablution, he used to pour water on his two elbows.

Darakutani Ha/280; Silsila Chahiha Ha/2067.

There is another hadith

On the authority of Nu’aim Ibn Abdullah Al-Muzmir (RA), he said, I saw Abu Hurairah (RA) performing ablution. He washed his face very well, then his right hand along with some parts of his arm. Then he washed the left hand and some parts of the arm. Then he massaged his head. And then he washed the right leg along with some parts of the tube. Then he washed the left leg along with some parts of the tube. Then he said, I saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) performing ablution like this.

Muslim Ha/246, ‘It is better to wash the face, elbows, and ankles a little more during ablution’.

It is proved from this hadith that both elbows and ankles should be washed.

3. Massaging the entire head

Allah Ta’ala says, rub your heads. (Mayda 5/6).

Here, head massage means complete head massage. Therefore it is not permissible to massage some parts of the head. It has been said,

Then he rubbed his head with both hands. That is, he took two hands in front and behind. Starting from the front of the head, take both hands to the ends of the hair at the back. Then he brought it back to where he started.

Bukhari Ha/185, chapter ‘Wudhu’, paragraph ‘Massing the full head’, Banganubad (Tawheed Publications) 1/107 p.; Muslim Ha/235; Mishkat Ha/393, Banganubad (Emdadia) 2/78 p.

The ears should be massaged with the same water as the head massage. Because the ears belong to the head. Rasulullah (SAW) said the ears are part of the head.

Ibn Majah ha/443; Abu Dawood Ha/134; Silsila Chahiha Ha/36; Irwaul Galil Ha/84.

Therefore, since the ear is part of the head, it is obligatory to massage the ear along with the head.

4. Wash both feet up to ankles

Allah Ta’ala says, Wash your feet up to the ankles. (Mayda 5/6).

Here, up to the ankles is meant to be washed with the ankles. For example, in the aforementioned hadith, Abu Hurayrah washed the right leg with some parts of the tube.

Then he washed the left leg along with some parts of the tube. Then he said, I saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) performing ablution like this.

Muslim Ha/246

In addition to the above four duties, two more tasks are essential in Wudu

Even many jurists have considered these two as obligatory.

Muhammad bin Saleh al-Uthaymeen, Sharhul Mumtah 1/183 p.; Saleh al-Fawzan, Al-Mulakshashul Fiqhi 1/41 p.

However, there is a difference of opinion among the ulama in this regard.

1. Maintaining consistency while performing wudu

That is to wash the face first, then wash the hands, then massage the head and finally wash the feet. As mentioned in the Holy Quran.

Allah says, O believers! When you want to stand in prayer, wash your hands up to your face and elbows, rub your head and wash your feet up to the ankles’ (Mayda 5/6).

It is essential to maintain the continuity that Allah Ta’ala has described in the said verse. Because Allah Ta’ala has ordered the head to be massaged between washing the hands up to the elbows and the feet up to the ankles. If continuity were not essential, he would not have ordered the head to be massaged between washing the hands and feet. He used to give instructions to massage the head either before or after washing the parts. Also, consistency has been maintained in every hadith related to the procedure of ablution.

Muhammad bin Saleh al-Uthaymeen, Sharhul Mumtah 1/189-190 pp.

Therefore, if you wash your hands before your face or your feet before your hands, Wudu will not be valid.

2. While performing wudu, wash one part before drying the other part

On the authority of Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) who narrated on the power of some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) saw a man offering Salat, but he saw a dry spot on his feet, the size of a dirham, where the water did not reach. . Then the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) ordered him to perform ablution again and pray.

Abu Dawud ha/175; Albani, Sanad Sahih, Irwaul Galil 1/127.

This hadith proves that it is essential to wash one part before drying the other part. If it was not necessary, then the Prophet (PBUH) would not have ordered the person mentioned in the hadith to perform ablution and pray again. Rather, he would order to wash the dry part of his feet. But as his other organs were dry he ordered him to perform ablution again.

What are the Sunnahs of Wudu?

(a) It is Sunnah to start wudu with miswak

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “If I had not thought it hard on my Ummah, I would have ordered teeth brush with every ablution.”

Bukhari, ‘Using Raw or Dried Miswak for Chayim’, Banganubad (Tawheed Publications) 2/308 p.

(b) It is Sunnah to start wudu by saying, Bismillah

And on the authority of Hurairah (RA), she said, The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, Salat will not be performed without ablution and ablution will not be performed without saying, Bismillah.

Abu Dawud Ha/101; Tirmidhi Ha/25; Ibn Majah ha/399; Mishkat Ha/402, Banganubad (Emdadia) 2/82 p. Albany, Sanad Cahih.

Referring to this hadith, some scholars say it is obligatory to start ablution by saying, Bismillah. But according to Sahih, it is Sunnah to start ablution by saying, Bismillah.

Sahih Fiqhus Sunnah 1/122 p.

Because in the hadiths which describe the method of ablution of the Prophet (PBUH), there is no mention of saying ‘Bismillah’. Moreover, Imam Ahmad (RA) said, “I do not know any hadith of good authority that it is obligatory to start ablution by saying ‘Bismillah’.”

Ibn Qudama, Al-Mughni 1/145 p.

(c) It is Sunnah to wash both hands up to the wrist before performing wudu after waking up

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA), he said, The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, ‘When one of you performs ablution, he should wipe his nose with water. And whoever uses the toilet should use an odd number of tissues. And when one of you wakes up, he should wash his hands before entering the water for ablution. Because none of you knows where his hands are when he sleeps.

Bukhari Ha/162, ‘Using an odd number of dhila’ paragraph, Banganubad (Tawheed Publications) 1/96 p.; Muslim Ha/278; Mishkat Ha/391, Banganubad (Emdadia) 2/77 p.

(d) It is Sunnah to put water inside the nose and shake it off

However, in the state of fasting, water cannot be entered so deep into the nose. So that there is a possibility of water entering the stomach.

On the authority of Khadim Ibn Lakkit Ibn Shabira (RA), he said, The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, ‘Enter water into the nostrils. However, except in the state of rest.

Abu Dawud Ha/2366; Tirmidhi Ha/788; Nasa’i Ha/87; Ibn Majah ha/407; Albany, Sanad Cahih.

(e) It is Sunnah to wash the organs of wudu with water

Abbad Ibn Tamim narrated on the authority of his uncle, who said, I saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) performing ablution, and he shook his hand.

Sahih Ibn Hibban Ha/1082; Mustadarak Hakem Ha/509; Arnaut, Sanad Cahih.

(f) Sunnah to trim the beard

There are two types of beards. 1- Thin beard through which the skin is visible. Washing this beard is obligatory. 2- Thick beard through which the skin is not visible. It is not wajib to wash this beard. Instead, it is Sunnah to wash it with water.

On the authority of Ammar Ibn Yasir (RA), he said, I saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) trimming his beard.

Tirmidhi Ha/29; Ibn Majah ha/429; Albany, Sanad Cahih.

There is another hadith,

Anas Ibn Malek (RA) said, When the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) performed ablution, he used to take a handful of water and put it under his jaw. Then he used to trim his beard with it and said, “Allah Ta’ala has instructed me in this way.

Abu Dawood Ha/145, Mishkat Ha/408, Banganubad (Emdadia) 2/83 p.; Albany, Sanad Cahih.

(g) It is Sunnah to wash the right hand first while washing the hands and the right foot first while washing the feet

On the authority of Aisha (RA), she said, The Prophet (PBUH) liked to start all his work from the right side as much as possible. Also at the time of attaining purity, bowing the head and putting on the shoes.

Bukhari Ha/426, Paragraph ‘Entering the Masjid and other activities starting from the right side’, Banganubad (Tawheed Publications) 1/217 p.; Muslim Ha/268; Mishkat Ha/400, Banganubad (Emdadia) 2/81 p.

(h) It is Sunnah to wash the organs of Wudhu for the second and third time

But it is wajib to wash the first time.

On the authority of Ibnu Abbas (R.A.), he said, “The Prophet (S.A.W.) washed his ablutions once.

Bukhari ha/157

There is another hadith,

Abdullah Ibn Zayd said the Prophet (PBUH) performed ablution twice.

Bukhari ha/158

There is another hadith,

On the authority of Humran (RA), he saw Uthman Ibn Affan (RA) bring a vessel of water and pour it on both palms three times and wash it. Then he put his right hand into the pot. Then he washed his nose and cleaned his nose with water. And then he washed his face three times and washed both hands up to the elbows three times. Then he massaged his head. Then he washed both feet up to the ankle three times. Later he said, Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said, ‘Whoever performs ablution like me, then prays two rak’ahs, so that he does not care about the world, his previous sins will be forgiven.

Bukhari ha/159

Therefore, it is proved by the mentioned proofs that washing the first time in ablution is wajib and washing the second and third time is sunnah. But the head should be massaged only once.

(i) It is Sunnah to recite dua after wudu

On the authority of Omar Ibn al-Khattab (RA), he said, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, ‘Whoever performs ablution among the Muslims, let him perform ablution well. Then he said, I bear witness that there is no true god but Allah and I further bear witness that Muhammad (PBUH) is the servant of Allah and His Messenger. The eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him. He can enter through any door he wants.

Muslim Ha/234; Ibn Majah ha/470

What breaks Wudu

There are 5 reasons for breaking ablution. Namely:

1. Passage through urine and stool

Wudu is broken if feces, semen, mucus, blood, and air from menstruation and Blood during childbirth come out through the urinary tract.

Allah Ta’ala says, “Or one of you comes from the urinal or you have intercourse with a woman, but if you do not get water, then perform tayammum with pure earth.”

Surah Nisa: 43

Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said, “A person whose ablution is broken will not have Salat until he performs ablution.”

Bukhari ha/135

There is another hadith,

The authority of Safwan Ibn Asal RA said He used to instruct us not to remove our socks for three days (while traveling) for urination and sleep. But except in the state of Janabat.

Tirmidhi Ha/96; Ibn Majah ha/478; Mishkat Ha/520

There is another hadith,

On the authority of the uncle of Abbad Ibn Tamim (RA), the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was told about a person who felt as if something had happened in the middle of prayer. He said, ‘Let him not turn back until he hears a sound or smells a foul smell.

Bukhari ha/137, Muslim ha/361; Mishkat Ha/306.

In another description,

On the authority of Fatima bint Abu Hubaish (may Allah be pleased with her), she was a woman suffering from Menstruation. The Prophet (PBUH) said to her, the characteristic of menstrual blood is that it will be dark in color. When such blood flows, one should leave the prayer and when one sees a different color, perform ablution and perform the prayer. Surely it is the blood of the rag.

Abu Dawud Ha/286; Albany, Sanad Sahih.

Therefore, it was understood that if something comes out through the urinary tract, ablution will be broken.

On the other hand, if there is blood, pus, or vomiting from any part of the body, will the ablution be broken or not? There is a difference of opinion among the ulama in this regard. However, according to the Sahih opinion, ablution will not be broken due to the mentioned reasons. However, if the amount of blood, pus, and vomiting is too much, it is better to perform ablution again to keep yourself away from the barrier of disagreement.

Muhammad bin Saleh al-Uthaymeen, Sharhul Mumteh 1/274 p.; Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Fawzan, Al-Mulakshasul Fiqhi 1/61 p.

2. Discharge from any part of the body

If the urine and toilet are taken out through the pipe after surgery or if there is a large amount of blood or pus coming out from any wound of the body or vomiting, Wudu is broken. (Fatawa bin Baz 3/294)

3. loss of consciousness

Temporary loss of consciousness, which is caused by sleep, illness, and intoxication. For example, the Prophet (PBUH) used to instruct,

We should not take off our socks (while traveling) for three days for urinating and sleeping. But except in the state of Janabat.

Tirmidhi Ha/96; Ibn Majah ha/478; Mishkat Ha/520, ‘Massah over socks’ passage, Banganubad (Emdadia) 2/131 p.; Albany, Sanad Hasan.

There is another hadith,

On the authority of Ali Ibn Abu Taleb (RA), the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, ‘The eyes are the lid of the cave. So whoever sleeps should perform ablution.

Abu Dawood Ha/203; Ibn Majah ha/477; Albany, Sanad Hasan. Dr. Irwaul Galil Ha/113.

This hadith proves that if one falls asleep while performing ablution, then the ablution is broken. But it is such a sleep that the passing of air during sleep is not perceptible. On the other hand, if the sleep is such that one can perceive the release of wind, then the sleep does not invalidate the wudhu.

Majmu’ Fatawa 21/230 p.

In this context, there is a hadith,

On the authority of Anas (RA), he said, The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) were waiting until the end of the Isha prayer. Even (due to sleep) their heads were moving. Then they prayed. But he did not perform ablution.

Abu Dawud ha/200; Mishkat Ha/317

4. Permanent loss of consciousness

Which happens when you’re crazy. Since temporary unconsciousness breaks ablution, even permanent unconsciousness will break ablution.

5. Eating camel meat

On the authority of Jaber Ibn Samura (RA), a person asked the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), O Messenger of Allah! Shall I perform ablution after eating goat meat? He said, ‘Perform ablution if you wish. If you don’t want to, don’t do ablution. Then he asked, should I eat camel meat and perform ablution? He said, ‘Yes, eat camel’s meat and perform ablution.

Muslim Ha/360; Mishkat Ha/305

6. Laugh out loud in prayer

Narrated by Imran bin Hussain (RA). Rasulullah (s.a.w.) said, ‘Whoever laughs loudly during prayer, that person will repeat ablution and prayer. Hasan bin Qutaiba (RA) said, “When a person laughs out loud, that person will repeat ablution and prayer.” (Sunan Dara Qutni, Hadith: 612)

7. Something happens that makes bathing obligatory

Wudhu is also broken in those cases for which Ghusl is obligatory.

If you touch the secret organs will break the wudu?

Here the pubic area means both the toilet and the toilet. That is if someone directly touches the urinary tract during ablution, will his ablution be broken or not? There is a difference of opinion among the ulama in this regard. However, the Sahih opinion is that touching the private parts normally without excitement does not invalidate ablution. But if you touch it due to excitement and something comes out through the private parts, wudhu will be broken.

Muhammad bin Saleh al-Uthaymeen, Sharhul Mumteh 1/284 p.; Muhammad Ibn Omar Ibn Salem Baymul, At-Tarjihu fi Masa’ilit Tawaharah Was Salat, 60 p.

Qays Ibn Tulak narrated from his father, he said, “Once we went to the Prophet of God (PBUH). At that time, a villager came and asked, O Messenger of God! What is your opinion if a person touches his penis after ablution? The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, ‘Penis is a piece of meat or he said, only a part of the meat.

Abu Dawud ha/182; Tirmidhi Ha/85; Albany, Sanad Sahih.

This hadith proves that touching the private parts does not break the ablution. The pubic area is like any other part of the body. Just as touching other parts of the body does not break wudhu, touching the private parts does not break wudhu.

On the other hand, there is another hadith,

On the authority of Busra bint Chafwan, she heard the Messenger of Allah, peace, and blessings be upon him, say that whoever touches his penis should perform ablution.

Abu Dawud ha/181; Tirmidhi Ha/82; Nasa’i Ha/163; Albany, Sanad Sahih.

Elsewhere the Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whoever touches his penis should perform ablution, and a woman who touches her private parts should perform ablution.”

Musnad Ahmad Ha/7076; Albany, Sanad Chahih; Note: Chahihul Jame Ash-Chaghir Ha/2725.

By the mentioned hadiths it is understood that it is mustahabb to perform ablution after touching the private parts; Wajib is not understood. The above is the first hadith that bears proof. Because in the hadith the Prophet (PBUH) said, ‘The penis is a piece of meat or he said, only a piece of meat.

Abu Dawud ha/182; Tirmidhi Ha/85; Albany, Sanad Sahih.

Shaykhul Islam Imam Ibn Taymiyyah (RA) said, it is mustahabb and not wajib to perform ablution after touching the private parts.

Majmu’ Fatawa 21/241 p.

Moreover, Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (RA), Ammar Ibn Yasar (RA), Ibn Mas’ud (RA), Ibn Abbas (RA), Huzaifa Ibn al-Yaman (RA), Imran Ibn Husain (RA), Abu Darda (RA), Qays Ibn Talaq (RA), Ibn Jubair (RA), Nakha’i and Taus (RA) all mentioned that touching the private part does not break the ablution.

Muchannaf Abdur Razak 1/117-121 pp.; Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1/164-165 p.

If you touch women will break Wudu?

There is a difference of opinion among the Ulama as to whether touching women during ablution breaks ablution or not. However, the pure opinion is that touching women while performing ablution does not invalidate the ablution.

Muhammad bin Saleh al-Uthaymeen, Sharhul Mumteh 1/291 p.; At-Tarjihu fi Masayelit Tawaharah wa Salat pp. 61-67.

Allah says:

O, believers! When you want to stand in prayer, wash your hands up to your face and elbows, rub your head, and (wash) your feet up to the ankles, and if you are impure, purify yourself well. And if you are sick or on a journey or if one of you comes from the toilet or if you touch women and then do not get water, perform tayammum with pure soil. So rub your face and hands with it. (Mayda 5/6).

Touching mentioned in this verse means intercourse with the wife. Touching by hand alone is not meant.

Tafsirut Tabari, (Darul Fikr) 5/105 p.

It is also narrated that

Narrated Ayesha (RA): The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) kissed some of his wives. Then he went out for prayer but did not perform ablution. I said (Urwa Ibn Zubair), who is that other than you? Then she (Aisha) started laughing.

Tirmidhi Ha/86; Ibn Majah ha/502; Albany, Sanad Cahih.

Therefore, touching or kissing a woman while performing ablution will not break the ablution.

Shaykhul Islam Imam Ibn Taymiyyah (RA) said, touching a woman or touching an impure object does not invalidate ablution.

Imam Ibn Taymiyyah, Haqqiqatuch Siyam 44 p.

Bathing the dead person will break Wudu?

Bathing a dead person while performing ablution will not break the ablution. Because bathing a dead person breaks ablution is not confirmed by Quran and Sahih Hadith.

On the other hand, an Ashar has been narrated from Ibn Umar (RA), Abu Hurayrah (RA), and Ibn Abbas (RA) in which they have ordered ablution after bathing the deceased.

Musannaf Abdur Razak Ha/6101.

Breaking of ablution is not meant by Atra Ashar. Rather, performing ablution after bathing the deceased has been understood as mustahabb.

Muhammad bin Saleh al-Uthaymeen, Sharhul Mumteh 1/296 p.
