What are the things that break your fast in Islam?

What are the things that break your fast in Islam?

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim, What are the things that break your fast in Islam? There are 7 reasons for breaking the fast. E.g.

1. Wife intercourse

Fasting is broken as a result of intercourse with a fasting person. If he has sexual intercourse on the day of Ramadan while fasting is obligatory, then expiation will be obligatory on him, because of his serious crime. The expiation is to free a slave, to fast for two consecutive months if it is not available, and to feed sixty poor people if he cannot afford it. And if fasting is not obligatory on the one who has sexual intercourse, like the traveler, then qaza will be obligatory on him, not the expiation.

2. Ejaculation by any means other than intercourse

Ejaculation by touching or kissing while fasting, if the semen does not come out as a result of kissing, nothing is obligatory.

3. To eat and drink

That is to transfer something like food or drink to the stomach through the mouth or nose. It is not permissible for a fasting person to inhale or swallow foul-smelling smoke. Because, there is a body of smoke, but there is no problem in swallowing the scent.

4. Taking something to eat

E.g., taking national injections of food. If the injected food is not national, it will not break the fast, no matter where it is applied to the veins or the flesh.

5. Trumpeting

Blowing the horn or any other method to get the horn out of the horn makes the body weak. Yes, if a little blood will take for testing, the fast will not break. Because, the body is not weak for this, as it is weak as a result of blowing the horn.

6. Intentional vomiting

That is to take out something like food or drink from the stomach.

7. Menstruation and breathing of women

Bleeding in women due to menstruation and childbirth.

Fasting will be broken for seven reasons mentioned in the three conditions

1. Knowing the rules of breaking the fast and the time of fasting.

2. Remember fasting.

3. To perform these actions voluntarily.

For example, if someone blows a trumpet thinking that he will not break his fast because of the trumpet, then his fast is pure. Because he doesn’t know about the trumpet command. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

And if you do wrong in this matter, you have no sin; But if you have determination in your heart (it will be a sin).

[Surah Al-Ahzab, verse: 5].

O our Lord! If we forget or make a mistake, you will not catch us.

[Surah Al-Baqara, verse: 28].

Allah says in reply: “I have accepted.” Narrated in Sahih Bukhari and Muslim, Adi Ibn Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) used to put two black and white spots under his pillow and look at him while he was eating. Because he thought, this is the meaning of the following words of Allah:

And eat and drink until the white line of Fajr is clear from the black line.

[Surah Al-Baqara verse: 18]

Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: “It means the white glow of the day and the black darkness of the night.” He did not ask her to make up the fast of that day.

Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 1917; Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 1090.

If Fajr has not risen or thinks that the sun has set and eats and then the opposite is manifested, then his fast is pure. Because he did not know about the time. It is narrated on the authority of Asma bint Abu Bakr (RA) in Sahih Bukhari that she said, Once in the time of the Prophet (SM), we break our fast on a cloudy day and then the sun rises.

Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 1959.

If qaza was obligatory in this case, then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would have narrated it. Because Allah has perfected the religion through him. And if he had narrated, then, of course, the Companions would have conveyed it. Because Allah has taken the responsibility of preserving the religion. Since the Companions did not narrate the Qur’an, we know that it is not obligatory. Because, if such a thing happens, the Companions do not lack the effort to describe it. So everyone can’t forget such an urgent matter. And if one forgets to eat and drink, his fast will not be broken. The Prophet (SM) said:

He who forgets to eat and drink while fasting should complete his fast. Because Allah has given him food and drink.

Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 1933; Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 1155.

If a person is forced to eat or drink, or if he goes into the stomach while doing coolie, or if he goes into the stomach after being given eye medicine, or if semen comes out as a result of nightmares, then fasting is pure. Because there is no possession of his will here.

Miswak does not invalidate the fast, but it is Sunnat to do miswak at the beginning of the day or the end of the day for all those who are fasting and those who are not fasting. Fasting people can use water to quench their thirst. The Prophet (SM) used to water his head because of the heat while fasting.

Abu Dawood, Hadith No. 2375.

Umar (RA) kept his body wet while fasting. Thus God makes it easy for us.

Imam Bukhari has mentioned it without any Sanad in the preface of the chapter before the hadith of fasting.

May Allah Ta’ala grant us the tawfiq to understand and abide by things correctly. Allahumma Amin.
