Dua for visiting grave with transliteration in Islam

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim; Today I would like to discuss the Dua for visiting the grave and the rules of visiting the grave.

1 Dua for visiting the grave

The Shari’ah method of visiting the grave is to greet the dead person and pray for him, as is done in the funeral prayer. Similarly, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught his Companions while visiting graves. As if to say,

Pronunciation :  Assalamu Alaikum Ahlad Diyari Minal Muminina Wal Muslimina Wa Inna InshaAllahu Bikum Lalahikuna – Nasalullaha Lana and Lakumul Afiyah.

Meaning: O believing Muslim in the grave! Peace be upon you; And when Allah wills, we will surely join you; I pray to God for peace for us and you.

Sahih Muslim Hadith No. 2148, Abu Dawood Hadith No. 3237.

2 Dua for visiting the grave

Pronunciation: Assalamu Alaikum Dara Qaumim Muminina Antumus Sabikuna wa Nahnu Lalahikuna Bikum InshaAllah – Nasalullaha Lana and Lakumul Afiyah.

Meaning: O believer in the grave! Peace be upon you; You have come here (to the grave) before; And when Allah wills, we will surely join you; I pray to God for peace for us and you.

Sunan An Nasai Hadith No. 2039

There is more narration from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he used to say,

ما من رجل يمر بقبر أخيه كان يعرفه في الدنيا فيسلم عليه إلا رد الله عليه ژوحه كى يرد عليه السلام

When a person passes by the grave of a known servant and greets him, Allah returns the soul of the person buried in it to answer him.

The hadith has been narrated by Ibn Abdul Bar. Many, including Shaykh al-Islam ibn Taymiyyah, have called it Saheeh and Shaykh al-Albaani has called it weak.

And Allah the Almighty rewards the living who pray for the dead believer; Such as when he prays the Janazah prayer he is rewarded; That is why the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was forbidden to do this for the hypocrites. God the Almighty said,

And if one of them dies, you should never offer the funeral prayer for him or stand by his grave.

Verse No. 84 of Surah At-Tawba

So in Shari’ah-supported visiting graves, the dead person does not need the living person, no desire, no provision of Mediation, etc.; Rather, there is the matter of the living being benefited by the living person, which is the same as performing the Janazah prayer for him; And Allah has mercy on him because of his Doa and Ihsan and rewards him for this deed; As narrated in the Sahih Hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said

إذا مات الإنسان انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاثة إلا من صدقة جارية أو علم ينتفع به أو ولد صالح يدعو له

When a person dies, all but his three Amals cease, be it charity, useful knowledge, or a good child who will pray for him.

Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 1831; Musnad Ahmad (2/372).
