Bismillahir Rahmani Rahim, today’s topic of discussion is the Benefits of Surah Kahf and the virtues of the first 10 verses of Surah Kahf.
Benefits of Surah Kahf
Memorizing Surah Kahf is Sunnah. The Prophet (PBUH) recalled his own memorization of Surah Kahf as follows: Narrated Abdullah (PBUH): “The Prophet (PBUH) said, Surah Bani-Israel, Kahf, Maryam, Ta-ha and Ambiya are among the first Surahs that I Memorized and these are my first resources.”
Sahih Bukhari
Narrated Abdullah bin Masud (RA): “The Prophet (PBUH) said, Surah Bani-Israel, Kahf, Maryam, Ta-ha and Ambiya are among my first earnings and my old wealth.”

Rasulullah (SAW) asked the believers to recite this Surah on Friday because the Noor (light) of this Surah protects against the fitnah of the false Messiah Dajjal.
Narrated Abu Sa’eed (RA): “The Prophet (PBUH) said, If a person recites Surah Kahf on Friday, a light will shine brightly for him until the next Friday.”
Kitab al-Dawah al-Kabir by Tirmidhi and Bayhaqi
Narrated Abu Saeed Khudri (RA): “The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whoever recites Surah Kahf on Friday, its light will keep him alive until the next Friday.”
Nasa’i, Bayhaki, Hakim
Narrated Ibn Umar (RA): “The Prophet (PBUH) said: Whoever recites Surah Kahf on Friday will be blessed with a light that reaches from his feet to the top of the sky. It will be the light of the Day of Judgment for him, and he will be forgiven for whatever he did between the two Jummas.”
Syed Saqib: It is stated in Fiqh-as-Sunnah that this hadith was recorded under the authority of Ibn Mardaabiyah.
So it is Sunnah not only to memorize Surah Kahf but also to recite it every Friday.
The Prophet (PBUH) also said that if the Dajjal confronts a person, he should recite the first ten verses of the Surah on the Dajjal, then the Dajjal will not be able to harm him.
Narrated Abu Darda (RA): “The Messenger (PBUH) said: If a person memorizes the first ten verses of Surah Kahaf, he will be saved from the Dajjal.”

Whoever among you sees the Dajjal should recite the opening verses of Surah Kahf on the Dajjal.

Narrated Abu Darda (RA): “The Messenger (PBUH) said, “Whoever recites the first three verses of Surah Kahaf will be saved from the fitnah of Dajjal.”

Surah Kahf first 10 verses
18:1 الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ الْكِتَابَ وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ عِوَجًا ۜ
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance.
18:2 قَيِّمًا لِيُنْذِرَ بَأْسًا شَدِيدًا مِنْ لَدُنْهُ وَيُبَشِّرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا حَسَنًا
[He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward
18:3 مَاكِثِينَ فِيهِ أَبَدًا
In which they will remain forever
18:4 وَيُنْذِرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ وَلَدًا
And to warn those who say, “Allah has taken a son.”
18:5 مَا لَهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ وَلَا لِآبَائِهِمْ ۚ كَبُرَتْ كَلِمَةً تَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ ۚ إِنْ يَقُولُونَ إِلَّا كَذِبًا
They have no knowledge of it, nor had their fathers. The grave is the word that comes out of their mouths; they speak not except a lie.
18:6 فَلَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَفْسَكَ عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِمْ إِنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَسَفًا
Then perhaps you would kill yourself through grief over them, [O Muhammad], if they do not believe in this message, [and] out of sorrow.
18:7 إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ زِينَةً لَهَا لِنَبْلُوَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا
Indeed, We have made that which is on the earth adornment for it that We may test them [as to] which of them is best in deed.
18:8 وَإِنَّا لَجَاعِلُونَ مَا عَلَيْهَا صَعِيدًا جُرُزًا
And indeed, We will make that which is upon it [into] a barren ground.
18:9 أَمْ حَسِبْتَ أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ الْكَهْفِ وَالرَّقِيمِ كَانُوا مِنْ آيَاتِنَا عَجَبًا
Or have you thought that the companions of the cave and the inscription were, among Our signs, a wonder?
18:10 إِذْ أَوَى الْفِتْيَةُ إِلَى الْكَهْفِ فَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا
[Mention] when the youths retreated to the cave and said, “Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.”
