Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim, today’s topic of discussion is Jannah, meaning in Islam, and a Brief description of Jannah.
Jannah meaning in Islam
(جنّة) The word paradise is Arabic; it means garden. In a broad sense, paradise means a garden with date palms and other trees.
What is Jannah?
In the literal sense, Paradise means a place that Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, has reserved for His loyal servants. It is a beautiful garden with beautiful buildings adorned with various kinds of flowers stretching to the horizon, with various types of rivers, streams, and fountains flowing along its sides, where spring is eternal.
We also call Paradise Behesht. Behesht is a Persian word; here, we will use the Arabic word.
Brief description of Jannah
Paradise is a place of eternal peace. The ultimate and absolute provision of comfort, happiness, pleasure, entertainment, and joy exists. There is a wealth of food and drink. The people of Paradise will get everything they desire or ask for. Everyone will live there as young people. There will be no disease, grief, decay, recession, old age, weakness, or incapacity in the body. They will be able to eat all kinds of fruits, food, drinks, milk, honey, and delicious food. All the means of enjoyment and luxury are available. They are wonderful in taste and smell. They will be able to have fun, travel, play, go shopping, and greet people. There will be no shortage of abundance. They will be able to fulfill their desires in the blink of an eye, including fast-moving vehicles.
There will be beautiful husbands for women and beautiful wives and beautiful, graceful husbands for wives. They will live a happy and beautiful married life there. People will be free from urine, feces, and nasal mucus, and women will be free from menstruation.
In a word, everything that is meant by absolute and ultimate peace will be found in Paradise. All the arrangements for happiness and peace in the world are nothing compared to the joy and peace of Paradise. Rather, it will surpass all the comforts and luxuries of the world. People want to be happy. Therefore, they should compete to attain ultimate happiness.
In a brief description of the widespread introduction to Paradise, Allah Almighty says:
“No soul knows what beautiful reward is hidden for it.” (Surah As-Sajdah: 17)
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, says:
“I have prepared for my righteous servants such blessings as no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human being can even imagine.” Then he said, “If you wish, recite the following verse. The meaning is: “No soul knows what is hidden for it of the beautiful reward.” (Bukhari, 3244; Muslim, 2824)
