Qasar Namaz rules. How to pray qasr Salah?

Bismillah Rahmani Rahim, Qasar Namaz: it is permissible to make Qasr or Qasar in Salah during travel or fear. As Allah, the Exalted says, When you travel, there is no fault in delaying your prayers; If you fear that the disbelievers will harass you; Surely the disbelievers are your open enemies. (Nisa 4/101)

What is the meaning of the word Qasr?

The meaning of the word fraction is to reduce; In a terminological sense, shortening the obligatory prayer of four Rakats to two Rakats is called Qasr. During the conquest of Makkah, the Prophet (PBUH) prayed with Qasr. (Muttafaq Alaih, Mishkat Ha/1336)

In response to a question from Umar Farooq (R.A.) about whether or not to make a peaceful journey, the Prophet (S.A.W.) said; Allah has given it to you as Sadaqah (gift); So accept it. (Muslim, Mishkat Ha/1335)

The journey must be a journey of obedience to Allah, not a journey of sin.

Travel distance

Regarding the distance of the journey, there are twenty different statements among the learned people from one mile to 48 miles. (Silsilah Sahihah Ha/163) There is no explanation of distance in the Holy Quran. There is only talk of travel. No limit was indicated even by the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). Therefore, it can be considered a trip, if you go on such a trip, you can leave your residence for a short distance. If you plan to visit some scholars, you can start ‘Kasar’ from home.

However, Ibnul Munzeer said that I did not know that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) performed Qasr before leaving the city of Madinah for the purpose of travel. He said that scholars have agreed that he can do Qasr only if he goes out for the purpose of traveling and passes the houses of his village or neighborhood. We think that to avoid disagreements, it is better to go on a journey after performing the obligatory two-time Salat at home without the Qasr and the Sunnah in two separate Iqamats. This was done by the Prophet (PBUH) and his Companions during the Tabuk campaign. (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Mishkat Ha/1344)

How long is the Qasr prayer?

On the authority of Ibn Abbas (RA): He said, We stayed with the Prophet (PBUH) for nineteen days (during the conquest of Makkah). Ibn Abbas (RA) said We used to do Qasr for up to nineteen days on our journey. If there were more days than that, we would have offered the whole prayer. (Bukhari ha/4299)

If one has a fixed period of visit, he will move, until he decides to settle there permanently.

It can be withdrawn even if it remains in an undecided state for more than 19 days; The Prophet (PBUH) stayed there for 20 days during the Tabuk campaign; When Abdullah Ibn Omar (RA) went on a trip to Azerbaijan, he got stuck there during the entire snow season and prayed with difficulty for six months; Similarly, Hazrat Anas (R.A.) visited Sham or Syria and stayed there for two years.

Therefore, drivers and employees of permanent passengers such as ships, airplanes, trains, buses, etc. can always perform salat while traveling; And they can add and perform the two daily prayers.

Qasr prayer order

It is better to move in a state of fear and travel; The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) always used to take a break during his travels; Hazrat Umar, Ali, Ibn Masud, Ibn Abbas (R.A.), etc. used to give preference to doing Kasar in their travels.

Hazrat Osman and Hazrat Ayesha (RA) used to do Qasr at first and later read Pura; Abdullah Ibn Umar (RA) used to read Pura in the congregation and perform Qasr alone. (Muttafaq Alaih, Mishkat Ha/1347-48)

Because Allah Ta’ala says, there is no sin for you if you miss the prayer while traveling. (Nisa 4/101).

Qasr prayer rules

There is a rule to read Takdeem and Takhir in two ways, without Sunnah and Nafal, through separate Iqamats of Zohr-Asr (2+2=4 rakat) and Maghrib-Isha (3+2=5 rakat) while traveling. (Bukhari, Mishkat Ha/1339)

That is, the last time prayer will be recited together with the previous time by ‘Takdeem’ or the previous time prayer with the last time by Takhir’; Apart from fear and storms, due to any other special Shari’a reason, the two times Salat can be recited together in the state of Muqeem, without any Qasr and Sunnah. For example, Zohr and Asr are 4+4=8 Rakat by separate consensus, and Maghrib and Isha respectively are 3+4=7 Rakat. Ibn Abbas (RA) was asked why this. He said so that the Ummah does not suffer. (Bukhari ha/1174)

Women suffering from Istihaza or common diseases and polyuria patients or other difficult patients, cooks, and brothers and sisters who are busy with work can sometimes take this opportunity temporarily due to special burdens. During the Hajj pilgrimage, without any Sunnah-Nafal, Zuhr and Asr together (2+2) in separate Iqamat at the Awal time of Zohr and in Muzdalifah Maghrib and Isha together (3+2) in separate Iqamat during Isha and Taqdeer in Jamaat or alone. . (Bukhari, Mishkat Ha/2617, 2607)

Rasulullah (PBUH) did not read the Sunnahs during the journey; (Muttafaq Alaih, Mishkat Ha/1338) Of course, the two Rakats of Witr, Tahajjud, and Fajr did not leave Sunnah; However, he did not forbid anyone from performing common Nafl prayers such as Tahiyatul ablution, Tahiyatul masjid, etc. (Muttafaq Alaih, Mishkat ha/1340; Bukhari ha/1159)

Qasr prayer can be read both alone and in congregation with a traveling imam.

If the traveler performs Iqtida behind the local imam, he will perform the full prayer following the imam.

It has been mentioned in the Hadith that Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas (R.A.) said that if a traveler joins the Mukim in prayer, he should pray (four Rakats) like them. (Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaiba: 3849)

The intention of the Qasr prayer

One of the conditions of worship is pure intention. Almighty Allah says they have not been instructed except that they should worship Allah sincerely with a pure heart, establish prayer and give zakat; This is the right religion. (Surah Al-Bayyinah Verse No. 5)

Niyat means a determination of mind. And its place is the heart; not the face The Prophet Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam and none of his Companions used to utter any specific word for intention; So it is innovative to pronounce it in the mouth; Moreover, there is no restrictive wording for intention; If you make a mental decision for any worship, it will become an intention. There is no need to pronounce anything on the face.

And the pure intention is to resolve in my heart that I am doing this now only for the sake of Allah and for no other purpose. Therefore, the intention of the Qasr prayer should be such that I must resolve in my heart that I am offering Qasr prayers by 2 Rakats from the 4 Rakats of this time only for the sake of Allah. You don’t have to say anything with your mouth, start the prayer with this determination in your heart.

There is no qasr in which prayer

Fajr, Maghrib, and Witr prayers must be performed in full. They have no problem. In the same way, the Sunnah prayer is not difficult. So read the whole Sunnah.

Women’s qasr prayer

There is no difference in the rules of prayer for men and women. Likewise, men and women will follow the same rules for Qasr Salat. But here remains a question, which is the permanent address of girls after marriage? Husband’s house or father’s house? In fact, the permanent address for girls after marriage is her husband’s house and father-in-law’s house. When a married girl travels from her husband’s house to her father’s house, she will be considered a Musafir there and she will perform the Salat there.
